Frequently asked questions
1) Don't we already have a road association?
A: No, we do not currently have a road association. In the summer, decisions about the road maintenance are made by the Road Commissioner concerning monies coming from the Town of Enfield. In the winter, volunteers on Cedar Rest Road collect voluntary dues from residents.
2) What changed? Why are we talking about this now?
A: Concerned residents are working towards taking control of our own destiny on Cedar Rest Road and Campbell Lane. First, we want to be involved in how the money that comes to us from the Town of Enfield is spent on our roads. Second, we want to be prepared for the future in case the money from the Town of Enfield is either drastically reduced or stopped all together.
3) What would it cost?
A: The cost will be known when the annual budget is finalized. The Steering Committee is currently working on a proposed budget, which will be shared with all owners.
4) What would be the next step?
A: The first step towards creation of a road association is forming a Steering Committee. This group will help with the tasks that need to get done, plan to get the road association up and running, and generally provide support for the formation process. We have already taken this first step. You can learn more about the Steering Committee right here in this website by clicking the button below.
